Unpublished Short Story Competition
This year the End of the Pier launches a new festival competition. Due to the success of the Short Film Script Competition, eotp will offer a Short Story Competition for aspiring writers. Works must be 4000 words or less, and must not have been published commercially.
The categories for the short story competition are:
* Drama
* Comedy / Romance
* Action / Crime
* Science Fiction / Fantasy
* Horror
All stories submitted will need to fall into one of these categories. The judging will be for each category and these winning stories will be judged for the Best Overall Short Story. In addition to this award the winning writer's work will be at the centre of eotp's 2012 Adaptation Competition.
Adaptation Competition
For the 2012 End of the Pier International Film Festival, a third writing competition will be launched - the Adaptation Competition. The text that will be used for this competition will be the 2011 Best Overall Short Story. The 2011 winning story will be posted on the eotp website where it will be open to the public for adaptation into a short film script of no more than 15 pages.
Entries for the Short Story Competition open on 1st July 2010. You can download a submission form on the Download Submission Forms page and submit your story by post.
The entry fee is £20 for each story. Writers may enter more than one story if they wish.
The deadline for entering your short story is
1st March 2011
Don't delay, the deadline will be here before you realise!
